In my previous writings I spoke about my Myrtle Beach and Disney World Golf, which are two excellent choice for golf and holiday destinations, no two ways about it. I was alternately in both places for about ten years and had some great times, but we were ready for a change, for something else. Where would we go? I've always wanted in Las Vegas since my first visit there back in 1976, but just never had the opportunity. I had stopped in Las VegasThree days after my return home from my honeymoon to Hawaii, my favorite place on the planet, met some friends there and had a blast.
In 2002, see 50 was Birthday fast approaching, and my girlfriend surprised me with a gift that I do not expect a four-day golf trip to Las Vegas. Can it even better? I think maybe five or six days journey would be better, but they wanted to make sure we do not go broke while we were there, four days was a good compromise. We lived inMGM at Las Vegas Blvd., Better known as "The Strip", where most of the most famous hotels have been targeted in the city. From Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and New York, New York on one end to Circus Circus, Riviera, Sahara, and The Stratosphere on the other side, and The Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Paris and Bally's in between like you could go wrong?
Then there was the Gulf. After considering the available courses, we chose three venues, which we enjoyed very much. WePlayed Bears Best, a Jack Nicklaus design and is my favorite player of all time, as some of you may remember from an earlier letter, Angel Park, an Arnold Palmer design, and other magnificent golf venue, which includes three courses, The Mountain is my favorite, and last but not least, Bali Hai, the adjacent Mandalay Bay, right on the Strip. Jack's "Best Bear was obviously designed by the use of the signature hole layouts for some of his other outstanding achievements Golf Courseto date, and they reproduce in Las Vegas landscape. The green fairways, in contrast to the desert, mountains and sand dunes in the background was a breathtaking site, especially if you've never been in the desert. Angel Park was very pleasant and it was a great view of the golf course and a real green mini-golf course (the only one I'd ever seen) the right of the dining patio and clubhouse. It was a great setting for lunch, we took in the magnificent panoramaview. Bali Hai was as exotic as the name exudes. With well-established over two thousand palm trees on the course designers, and many thousands of various other forms of exotic plants, which has complemented by the beautiful white sand bunkers, there is a hint of the tropical South Pacific to the desert, a unique and fun innovation, to say the least expression. After 36-hole golf course on Bali Hai, my birthday dinner was a real treat. Dinner in the elegant, Wolfgang Puck, "Cili" restaurant is located directly on thePremises, in the clubhouse, at the Bali Hai golf course. The design and ambience of the restaurant and clubhouse was a continuation of the tropical theme appears so open on the golf course. Good food, good wine, dessert and espresso with a touch of Sambuca to top off the meal, which was some live piano music recorded in the background so to speak, the icing on my birthday cake.
After our dining experience at Cili's we went to the casinos. New York City isknown as "The City That Never Sleeps", but Las Vegas is the literal embodiment of the phrase. We walked from one end of the Strip to the other halt to almost all known casino in the city and all the joints were hopping no matter what time we went to New York, New York, MGM, The Bellagio, Caesars, Bally's and Paris were our Favorite stops. I've actually a couple of Grand At The Bellagio, there were again at the Paris, but you only live once (or do you? – A topic foranother time), it should be fun in the foreground. It's only money. As you interact with the casino atmosphere and the lack of daylight and get into a hot run on the blackjack or craps tables are in love, it's very easy to implement, day and night. The hours pass quickly, and I see many people that night at 5.00 or 6.00 clock Clock and breakfast at 10:00 or midnight for that matter. Since we play golf, we usually went to bed at midnight and were on the road, and 5.00-clock or so the next morning, that is, if we found a variety of eating habits of ordinary players and night-time crowd.
As we walked Las Vegas Strip, I could almost feel the presence of some of the larger than life personalities who visited Las Vegas in the 50's, 60's and 70's – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy and the rest of the Rat Pack, a name few. I was particularly reminded of Frank, because Frank Jrs. "Sceeen face was plastered on the big screen and he sang all his hits and fathersactually quite a good job of leave it there. Wayne Newton's life in Las Vegas was and is still as popular as ever. Las Vegas is perhaps the greatest line-up of first-class entertainment in the world. Wayne Newton, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Tony Bennett and The Blue Man Group and the first class magic acts and more, all talk in Las Vegas. The list of famous Las Vegas personalities from the golden age would not be possible without mentioning, including the completePerhaps the best known and most adored entertainers of all time, Mr. Las Vegas himself, the true "King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley." His name is with the hierarchy of Las Vegas Royalty synonym for it not to him as the king for nothing. The list goes on and on, but only check online whether you are planning a visit, and be a dozen or more shows up, note valued at a certain point, you can choose to plan a trip there. On our next evening we walked the entire strip again (also known asLas Vegas Boulevard) from Mandalay Bay and finishing at the Sratosphere. We stopped in at least half a dozen casinos, including MGM, New York, New York, Paris, Ballys and The Bellagio. The light was incredible and the water-light show in front of the Bellagio was very pleasant and entertaining. Furthermore, I stopped by the casinos for a while and saved my dough, which has spent the time there that much more rewarding.
We revisited Las Vegas about four months later andWe have some great deals on golf and hotel rooms. I think they thought they were the prices for those who are crazy enough less to play golf in 114 degree temperatures. It was hard, I must say, but we played and still had a good time to wet washcloth and all. It was another wonderful vacation under our belt and it just keeps getting better. If you are interested in Las Vegas for your next trip, I can guarantee you will not be bored. It is truly the "City That Never Sleeps". You can see some greatPackages available, both for golf or just stay and play at the resorts. Las Vegas is truly the ultimate playground for the amount over 21. Happy vacationing and golfing To All!
